VSR Balancing

As a critical step in our build process, each turbocharger undergoes precision VSR (Vibration Sorting Rig) balancing using one of our Turbo Technics VSR balancing units. This essential process controls the turbo's vibration levels, reducing noise and significantly extending bearing life. More importantly, excessive vibration places undue stress on the turbo’s bearings, potentially leading to premature failure. By reducing vibration to safe levels, VSR balancing ensures your turbocharger operates quietly and reliably, without overloading its bearings.

    Beast of a Turbo

Posted by Andy Chamberlin on Sep 24th 2025

I didn't see any reviews before I bought this turbo so here is mine. Great Quality. Awesome product. I bought the BL58XR to compliment my built Fa20. With stock heads and Stock fuel delivery, on E50 blend my car made about 480 at 25PSI. About 430 on 91 at 21PSI. I wanted a turbo that wouldn't even come close to being pushed to its limits while still being able to deliver an amazing street driving experience. My build at its best won't reach 500hp without port injection and built heads so as far as safety goes this turbo is "Bullet proof". Compared to the stock turbo it finds its happy place a bit later in the RPM's, I'd say 4-5500RPM is pulling hardest. I have many supporting mods to help get to my goals and was protuned by Cam Tuning. the only downside I'd say is that the oil line flanges to the turbo had to be bent slightly to avoid coming in an unavoidable contact with the back of the compressor housing. without doing that I would never have been able to slip the oil lines over their respective locations. Took me 5 min to fix. Lastly the install was easy for me as I did it on my engine outside the car on an engine stand, inverted so the install location was waist high.
